Scots rally past Wakeland, advance to 2nd round of playoffs

After a thrilling come-from-behind win in an elimination game against Frisco Wakeland, the Scots will advance to the area round of the playoffs this weekend.  HPHS will face DISD's W.H. Adamson High School in a best-of-three series beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 9 at Scotland Yard, followed by a second game at 11 a.m. Saturday at Reverchon Park. If necessary, a third game will be played 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second game. Adult tickets will be $5, and student tickets will be $3 at the gate. Click here for the playoff bracket. In the first round against Wakeland, the Scots dropped the first game 0-5, but won the second game 5-2. In the deciding third game, the Scots were down 4-1 heading into the fifth inning, but scored three runs to tie the game. HP junior Brandt Gros eliminated Wakeland with a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning. Click here to view a video of the winning hit. Go Scots!
