HPISD Newsletter

Back-to-school newsletter: Tips to prepare for the first day of school
We are all looking forward to the first day of school Monday, Aug. 25. To get the year off to a smooth start, here is some helpful information to keep you in the loop. Scroll down for news about upcoming events.

Note to parents: campuses will be closed Monday morning
All faculty and staff will attend the Superintendent's Convocation Monday, Aug. 18. Because of this, all campuses will be closed until approximately 11 a.m.

Back to School Sign Up will close at 4 p.m. today
Back to School Sign Up for the 2014-15 school year will close at 4 p.m. today. The process can be completed anywhere in the world with Internet access, so if you have not yet completed your students' packets, click here to begin. To log in, use your Skyward user name and password.

Back to School Sign Up allows parents the convenience of a one-stop shop to provide important information to HPISD, its PTAs and other support organizations. As a result, parents do not have to sort through piles of paperwork and write multiple checks at the start of every school year.

Are you withdrawing a student?

Please notify your campus immediately if you are withdrawing a student from HPISD. Click HERE to download the Intent to Withdraw form.

Reminder: HPISD now requires annual proof of residency
Beginning with the 2014-15 school year, Highland Park ISD requires an annual proof of residency for each student at every grade level. This is a standard practice in many other school districts, and it is intended to protect the taxpayers whose dollars pay for the excellent education our students receive.

to submit your proof of residency.

Douglas Avenue will temporarily reopen this Monday for Convocation

The City of University Park is working on Douglas Avenue, and the street is closed from Emerson Avenue to south of Lovers Lane/Hyer alley. While the reconstruction of the street is currently underway, the road will be temporarily reopened Monday, Aug. 18 to allow staff members to park at HPHS for the Superintendent's Convocation. Douglas will be accessible from Emerson Avenue only, and will reach to the HPHS teacher parking lot and the spaces along the west side of the campus. The road will be closed again following Convocation.

Click here to view a map of the temporary reopening, with red blocks indicating no-access points.

Douglas, from Emerson Avenue to Lovers Lane,  is scheduled to reopen completely Aug. 23, weather permitting. With the current construction schedule, the closure will not affect HPISD during school days.
